Our Kindergarten is Maryland State approved as a non-public school program since 1995. The class is tau

ght by a lead teacher and assistant teacher. Both are experienced and hold Bachelor degrees. Resource teachers provide instruction in Music and Science/Art. They follow a fully approved curriculum which prepares students for success in first grade and beyond.
We strive to establish a framework for further educational success by encouraging creativity, building positive self-images, and fostering a love of learning. Our small class size allows the teachers to use a personalized approach to meet each child’s needs.
Our Kindergarten classroom is inviting and sunny. The room is equipped with a loft, housekeeping corner, music center, book center, science table, easels, and large and small manipulative learning materials.
The school has a large fully equipped fenced playground with a track covered in one inch thick rubber tiles for riding toys. A climbing structure, large sandbox, playhouse and gazebo are also available for outdoor play. A large private grassy area for circle and ball games is also available for classes. During inclement weather, the children can play in our spacious indoor recreational room.
Students also have access to other church facilities to pursue cooking, music, and movement activities.

Our students are exposed to a broad variety of learning experiences during the school day. Regular activities include time for free play, pre-reading and pre-math skills, art, literary enrichment activities, fine motor and gross motor
activities, development of social skills and a daily snack. Threes, Fours, and the Kindergarten class partake in Science/Art and Music specials.
The school often arranges for in-house programs presented by community resources, such as visits from children’s authors, fire fighters, and puppeteers. The 4-year-old and Kindergarten classes participate in popular field trips, such as concerts, dramatic productions, a visit to a farm, and a hike at a nature center.
We encourage parental involvement in the classroom through visits, parent-teacher conferences, holiday and birthday parties, and field trips. An annual highlight for the 4-year-old classes is the students’ preparation for special events for Dads and Moms in the spring.
In addition to our regular curriculum, we offer an optional Mid-Day Enrichment program from 11:45—2:15
Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for children who are in the 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes, and Thursdays and Fridays for the Kindergarten classes.
These special interest programs include time for lunch, indoor and outdoor free play, and activities centered around a specific theme, such as nature and animals, fairytales, multi-cultural celebrations, games from around the world, music and art.
Registration for Mid-Day Enrichment classes is in September and January.
