About Ascension

Ascension is "the Welcome Place" in Christ. All are welcome!

Ascension’s name comes from the ascension of Christ into heaven after the resurrection (you can read the story in the book of Acts, chapter 1).

You might even hear someone say "onward and upward" in the mission of God! But Ascension is really "down to earth" in a variety of ministries that involve hands and hearts!

Ascension is a large church in Towson with a small church feeling. There is something for all ages! Come and grow! Make yourself at home in God's house!

Ascension is a Lutheran Church which is a Christian Church rooted in the Reformation led by Martin Luther. Lutherans teach and believe we are saved by grace through Jesus Christ and not our own works. Ascension rejoices in an ever-growing and changing family of faith and the Gospel that sustains us with grace for our daily lives.

Ascension is mission-driven.

Our mission statement is "Invite in Love, Grow in Faith, Serve Christ Everywhere!" Every ministry we sponsor and program we develop is centered around this statement focused on Christ's call for us. Join us in our mission and ministry!
