Confirmation

Who can come? Any 7th or 8th grader , or even adults. Climbing into Confirmation
Anyone who wants to study the foundation of our beliefs.

Confirmation is a two year process of learning, serving, and worshiping, Lutherans believe that this two year process is formative for a life time of living out our faith.

When is it? The classes are held during the Sunday School hour from 9:45-10:30am. Classes begin in September and end in May. It is a two year program. Students meet in the “middle school” room which is on the ground floor. Follow the signs.

Who teaches confirmation? Pastor Judy and Jim alternate the teaching. Two parents are asked to participate each week for leadership in the small group portion.

What curriculum is used? Here We Stand, a web based curriculum produced by Augsburg Fortress which is the Church’s publishing house. The exciting aspect of this curriculum is that lessons can be shaped to fit the needs and personalities of the class. In a two year period the students study Old Testament, New Testament, and Luther’s catechism’s teaching on the ten commandments, the creed and the Lord’s prayer. Baptism and Communion are also units in the preparation.
