What To Expect

If you are visiting Ascension for the first time, here are a few things to expect:

Coming to worship this Sunday?

Coming to worship this Sunday with children?
Ascension is the Welcome Place so you will find a warm welcome in our Sunday Church School.

Sunday Church School for children and youth begins at 9:45am and lasts about 45 minutes, depending on the length of the concurrent worship service. Families usually arrive through the Yarmouth Road door. A Greeter will help you and your child/ren find your class rooms. Your teacher, adult helper and your classmates will welcome you to your classroom. There will be a lesson based on the lessons read in worship that day. Younger children will have time to play games or use toys in their classrooms. Older children will engage in crafts, Bible study, discussion and other appropriate activities. Teachers and adult helpers will remain with your child in their classroom until you pick them up after study or worship at about 10:30am.

Coming for a Christian Education offering this Sunday?
Study and worship, teaching and proclaiming go side by side. We hope and pray that you will be dedicated to both. From the second Sunday of September-the second Sunday in June, there are education offering for all from age 3- the oldest adult (nursery for those under 3 years taken care of by two adults). Leave home to be here by 9:30am. Park on the west side of York Rd. Cross the street using the cross walk signs and enter the building on the Yarmouth Road entrance. There will be people there to greet you and direct you to classes. There will be lots of chatter and welcoming. Should you have come in another entrance, or have worshiped at the earlier service, there are people to greet and direct and signs at each entrance.
