Evening Worship
Evening Worship, sponsored by Lutheran Campus Ministry, starts on Sunday, August 29th, and continues through December 12th. There will be a break until January 30th, 2010. Evening Worship will be from 5:00-6:00pm and will be a simple worship with Holy Communion and student-led music. It’s not always going to look the same, but it will always have the central elements: Scripture, preaching, prayer and communion. ALL ARE WELCOME!
Children’s Worship
At Ascension, all children are warmly invited to worship in the pew with their families. On Sunday mornings during the 11:00am worship service (10:00am during the summer), children through 2nd grade are invited to join one of the Pastors Cobb in the Luther Room for age appropriate worship-related activities. They return to worship during the Sharing of the Peace and are invited to the table for communion (if prepared) or a blessing. To occupy young minds and hands during the sometimes long worship hour, we provide a weekly children’s bulletin and children’s worship bag containing quiet games, puzzles and other materials. A small bookshelf near the entrance to the nave holds a number of books from which children are invited to choose to read or look at during the service.
Realizing there are times when it is more challenging to have very young children participate in worship, we offer nursery care during most services.
