Baptism

“Baptism includes instruction and nurture in the faith for a life of discipleship. When infants and young children are baptized, the parents and sponsors receive instruction and the children are taught throughout their development. Adults and older children receive instruction and formation for faith and ministry in the world both prior to baptism and following baptism.” (taken from Evangelical Lutheran Worship)

Please call Ascension and speak with one of the pastors if you desire baptism for yourself or your child. The pastors will establish a date and put that date on the church calendar. Baptism is a public event and occurs at any of the worship times . The pastors will meet with parents/individual for instruction. On the day of the Baptism, the individual receives important gifts from the congregation given throughout their life of faith.
